Returning to A Quiet Place.

Morning, Guys…

So, at Cinemacon this week, Paramount head, Jim Gianopulos, said, the sleeper hit, A Quiet Place will be getting a sequel.  In my opinion, this is awesome news.  We had a blast with the original, and I can see delving into the story deeper with the survivors or branching out, so it doesn’t look like the one fam’s getting marked.  Again, I think they need to make young Millicent Simmonds, who played the oldest daughter, Regan, front and center.  Her deafness lends itself on so many levels in the Horror genre in so many scenarios.

Hopefully, they can get John Krasinski back behind the wheel for another slow burn to crescendo.  They don’t necessarily have to give us the creatures’ complete back story.  I hate when the slasher has been humanized to death with multiple origin stories.  Yeah, I’m talking to you, writers for Leatherface.  I can forgive Leatherface since it was Tobe Hooper’s swansong before he died, but other than that, come on, THREE different origin stories?

But, I digress…

If they’ve got more to say that’ll push the story any mythos forward, I, for one, am on board.  I love the silents of back in the day (Phantom of the Opera ’25 being my fave), this is just a modernized silent.  Hopefully, they can hit pay dirt again.

Be good to each other.
