Afternoon,
Guys…
So, I saw Quantico for the first time. Yeah, I know, I know, it’s in the third
season already, I like a good gripping drama, but the incentive to check this
season out comes from the want to see Mrs. Marlee Matlin, who was last had a
run on Magicians and was a costar on Switched
At Birth, act as a badass agent,
and, Man, does she deliver. Right off
the bat, she has to deal with a prick on her team, who has issues with
LISTENING to her because of her deafness.
She signs and speaks. Of course,
this is an issue many of us deal with regardless of whether we’re deaf, in a
wheelchair, or whatever. When they’re
looking at a video sent by The Widow, the heavy of the episode, she says “clear
eyes,” trying to get people to look at details in each frame.
It never
ceases to amaze me how people can just write off someone when they’re deemed
lesser by a difference like that person didn’t have to go through the same
things, if not more, to get where they are in life…it doesn’t matter the fact
that they’re on the same team. It’s just
they’re different, so that puts them lower on the totem pole. We have to prove ourselves constantly.
With all our
regular shows wrapped for the season, we’ve been looking for new stuff to get
into. Thursday nights, we’ll be kickin’
it with Mrs. Matlin and her crew to watch her make waves on the force and see
what capers they solve. Check ‘em out if
you already aren’t watching.
Be good to each other.
