Afternoon,
Guys…
So, have you
ever had a new provider say something to the affect of: “I’ve got so and so
amount of years experience” when you tell them how you like things done? I have.
Story time…
I was living
in the apartment, rooming with my brother, when the agency sent over this older
Hispanic lady to get me up. Now, I was
younger, but I was no strangers to having providers by then. I know the first couple days are nerve
racking for both sides, so it’s in both sides’ best interest to listen to each
other, so they can come up with the best way to do things and neither one gets
hurt. No prob.
Everything’s
going swimmingly until she puts on my shoes.
I can’t feel my feet, so I’ve got watch to make sure people are being
too rough and break my ankle without me knowing. I tell her the best way of going about doing
it for me, and she indignantly starts
spouting off how she’s been providing for 20-odd years and she knows what she’s
doing and this, that, and the other. I
was like, “Oh no, this bitch’s too cocky, and doesn’t wanna listen to the crip.” After my shoes were on, I told her she could
go and that she doesn’t need to come back.
I called the agency and told them what happened.
Guys, I hope
this doesn’t happen to you, but if it has or does, don’t compromise with them,
who CLAIM they’ve all this experience.
If they don’t wanna listen to the way YOU NEED to be cared for, DON’T BE
AFRAID TO BOUNCE THEIR ASS OUT OF YOUR HOUSE.
Be good to
each other.
Well said Jason and bouncing their asses out of the house can be fun
ReplyDeleteThanks, Darcey, LOL, there's an element of fun when they understand they're in the wrong and know you're gonna report them.
