So, I was talking to a FB friend, who’s been trying to help me fill some mornings I need help with. She’s thrown out a few leads that never panned out. Then, this afternoon, she dropped me this FB Message:
“Omg ur not f-in kidding about this caregiver thing...my only real lead now is a lady who speaks spanish and is the housrkeeper for a doctor....im fuming mad at people so what i can do is this...i usually have lunch at 12...i can come help u but only if u want and i dnt accept money.”
My reply was one I’ve said over and over when people start “seeing” our world…past their sugar.
Now, I’m not feeling sorry for myself by any means. I know I live a charmed life compared to some of my crip brothers and sisters, but the struggle’s real nonetheless.
The fact is, it doesn’t matter how much you’re in need, if people don’t think it fits their perceived going rate, that crip’s ass out. End of story. Don’t get me wrong, we believe providers are worth their weight in gold, but we don’t have the luxury of calling the shots And, then there’s Anitra, who’s the silver lining, willing to step up. Bless you.
Be good to each other.
