The Guardians of the Internet Galaxy.

Morning, Fam…

So, yesterday, I talked about Roseanne’s 180 on her racist tweet apology.  Now, it seems The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s in deep trouble since it came out the powers that be’ve fired James Gunn, who’s directed the first two volumes of the popular franchise, for some past tweets joking about rape and pedophilia.

OK, first, NOT cool, dude, joking about those topics.  Victims of these are scarred for life, some don’t get passed those scars permanently, and are no longer here.  Yeah, I know you say you were just trying to get a rise out of people back in the day, but I also think, because you said those things, a part of you really believes that…otherwise, why would you even say something?

The other part’s more a devil’s advocate-type stance.  The tweets were reportedly old, so unless someone was gunning (no pun intended…LOL) for him, how did said old tweets surface…unless they aren’t as old as he’s saying.  Therefore, there should be an investigation with the powers that be questioning him about said tweets to see if that’s his current views, then, go from there.

I’m not saying he shouldn’t be put on notice, because joking about those topics was and is a shit move, but if someone’s just trying to bring him down, that’s not cool either.

Thoughts are thoughts and we’re all entitled to them, but some things’re better left inside our heads whether you’re in the public eye or not.

Be good to each other.
