So, let me
ask you a question:
When you set
out to do something, who’s approval are you looking for?
The easy
answer should be me, myself, and I.
I know I’ve
said we, as crips’re always, at least, feeling like we have to prove ourselves
to someone…but, do we really?
At the end
of the day, all anyone has to do is make happen whatever they set out to do to
the best of their abilities. If it’s an incremental
thing, stick with it, it’ll get done.
When you
look in the mirror, what do you see? Do
you see a crip dreamer, or do you see a reality-maker? Do you see through a warped, funhouse mirror,
or do you see clear and forever?
When it’s
time for you to cash in your cards, will you see your accomplishments or ghosts
of what could’ve been with those you tried to please, mocking you?
