Afternoon,
Guys…
So, I saw this on Micah Fowler’s (Speechless) Twitter feed! It’s been AT LEAST 25 years since I’ve seen a
licensed controller for a game console…AND, that was at Scottish Rite hospital
in Dallas when I got my back fused for my scoliosis. Part of my therapy was to go to the playroom
sitting up, so I played Double Dribble with Mom for as long as I could stand
it. Hey, it sounds good, right? And, I did need to get my muscles back after
surgery, so what better way to do than get in a little Nintendo play,
right? It worked. The point being, that controller was just a
large Nintendo control with huge buttons.
Fast forward
to today. Microsoft’s coming out with new
controls for their Xbox…sweet. FINALLY, I
might be able to have a fighting chance to get those damn combos that everybody
else’s been able to do for the last, oh, say, 30-odd years. Crips are gamers too. We’re just as competitive…if not more.
Looking at
this badass, reminds of that Nintendo controller, actually. I wonder IF that wasn’t a licensed controller
then. Just wondering.
I’ve since
moved onto the Playstation. We had the
original Xbox. Since Microsoft’s their
competitor, it won’t be long before they jump on the bandwagon, hopefully. In the meantime, it’s nice to know that a big
name home game console company’s trying to include the crip demo after all
these years.
You can get
a heads up when it’ll be available in your hood here.
Be good to
each other.
