Don't Hang Up.

So, just about everybody’s done a prank call to a friend or complete stranger just for the hell of it, right?

Have you ever had the table turned on you?

That’s what happens in Don’t Hang Up, which Joey and I saw yesterday afternoon as a random pick on Netflix.

Now, random picks can be hit or a train wreck miss.  Don’t Hang Up was a hit.

Capitalizing on the Youtube craze, Don’t Hang Up centers around Sam and Brady, two jackweeds that stream their prank calls.  Of course, their shenanigans garner them crazy numbers…until, they get a call from an unknown voice that’s hijacked both their houses as well as Sam’s folks.  As they’re tormented, they’ve got figure out which victim’s getting retribution before time’s up and one or both of them has to die as well as Sam’s parental units.

Revenge movies are always extreme, over the top fare…they’re also extremely cathartic.  Let’s face it, we all would like to get even for some wrongdoing against us…hopefully, not to the point of taking our transgressor out.  Hey, it is Sunday, Church Boy.  Still.

If you’re the pranker, this goes back to that old say, “You better be able to take what you give” or “If you can’t take the heat, get your ass out of the kitchen.”  Someone might take YOUR prank and make it better.

A life lesson you don’t want to pay WITH your life.
