Hey
all. So, let’s get into the nitty-gritty
of things. One of my pet peeves is when
I’m in the bathroom, and whoever coming in doesn’t knock before entering. Now, I’m not talking they didn’t realize
somebody was in there and ran in needing a toilet. Or when your best friend is playing a joke on you. I’m saying, I can count on certain people to
just waltz in, invading my privacy, whenever they want.
So, I got
to thinking. Apart from this just being
common decency-to knock first-why can I say, “I can count on certain people to…”
I’m noticing (mostly) the people who have helped me-pretty much moms and some caregivers-get
on the toilet or take a shower, things like that, might simply be thinking, well, I’ve seen her naked, so what does it
matter if I knock or not? They’re
not doing it out of cruelty, but they’re just not using their brains.
I say
that because these are the same people who’d Never intentionally walk in on
anybody else (including a non crip kid, who they've diapered plenty of times). Hey, I’m a person,
too, and I always knock on doors, walls, whatever. Crips are people just like you, and
we should get the same respect as would be given to everybody else. Right?
I have a couple of pet peeves.
