So, today
Joey went to church with a friend, and I watched a mass on Youtube, because the
parental units went to Throckmorton to spend the weekend with Kat, my sister and
my BIL, Jack…or, so we thought. Anyhoo,
without my folks, we didn’t have a ride to church and since the temp decided to
drop 30 degrees overnight just for ONE day, (DUDE, NO WONDER PEEPS GET SICK AROUND HERE!) walking’s
out of the question. Now, on a good day,
walking’s nothing…done it hundreds of times…today ain’t one of them.
In the past,
I’d’ve said “to hell with it,”
it means something to me, so when the folks’re gone, I still try to attend.
Joey and I’m
of the mind that church isn’t necessarily a place. A person can invite God wherever,
whenever. Given that, the days we can’t “go
to” church, I thought of Youtubing a mass.
They have them for any given Sunday, and, depending on the religion,
ours is Catholic, what’s said will be the same as if we’d gone to our own, just
worded differently, with different references as examples. Today, I duplicated the screen to show on our
big screen, so I didn’t have to see the little monitor. It was pretty cool, actually. Another thing I like about Youtubing mass is
we can see other congregations doing their rituals.
My point is,
for those of you that can’t get out for whatever the reason, you don’t have to
feel like you’re chucking God. God isn’t
a place. Just get on Youtube, search the
day’s mass, sermon, whatever you call it, and be.
Peace, and
be good to each other.
