Morning All…
First,
thanks for taking an interest in Joey’s Avon party, it was a lot
of fun.
So, onetime
Joey and I were at Wal-Mart eating lunch at Subway. While we were talking and eating, I watched
this guy, who obviously had CP by his shuffling gait. He was really getting after it. At the same time, two guys came in: one was
walking while the other was in one of those crappy scooters you see at Wal-Mart
and Target.
Anyhoo, the
walker goes to order while the other parks his scooter, GETS UP FINE, walks the
10 feet or so to the fountain drinks, gets said drinks, then, walks about 15
feet to a table a couple behind Joey, and sits down.
OK, J, but
old people needs scooters sometimes at stores.
Yeah, but
the dude had no groceries in his basket.
He had no gait whatsoever, his hands were fine, and he spoke fine…yeah, I
listened. They ate pretty fast and
left. Call me a crip snob, but
really? Then, I saw CP guy at the self-checkout
doing his thing, When he left, he crossed in front of us.
Now, I know
to each their own, by I was thinking, Ain’t
that a…the one that could really utilize the scooter, didn’t, and the one
who didn’t appear to need it just came through for grub at Subway at Wal-Mart?
Just an
observation.
Be good to
each other.

I HATE that! I hate it also when I see stupid kids riding in the stores scooters! By law, they are not even SUPPOSED to be on them! Not only does it deprive a handicapped/elderly person from using it but it is hateful!
ReplyDeleteWe've seen that too.
ReplyDeleteNow, I know there's some people where the cripness isn't obvious like, Mom suggested people with heart issues that can walk...just not long distances. So, sometimes, we have to take things with a grain of salt.
