So, in The
Olympics, I lamented America’s paltry airing of the Paralympics even though
they’re at the same venues the regular Olympics are held a month before, otherwise
being relegated to being seen on the net on Paralympics.org. I also said there were other ways…now, to see
the coming Winter Paras.
My provider
friend and I were talking awhile back about jailbroken things like phones,
tablets, and such…specifically, the Amazon Fire Stick. OK, before anybody gets up in arms saying
Jason’s condoning breaking the law, I’m not, and breaking anything is not…it’s
what you do with the broken device that defines the illegality.
My wheels
started spinning, of course, so I threw out, since Amazon and every other
company knows their devices are being
broken, why not get in bed with the consumers that can’t get out to, say, go to the movies. Yeah, yeah, copyright this and copy right
that, but if the brands, the MPAA, and the RIAA are in on it to where brands and
artists could still get their cut, then, sell it to the old folks homes and the
crip homes at bulk prices. Make the
administrators be the only ones to be able to purchase them by showing their company
badges/credentials. If the person lives
in their own house, but can’t otherwise get out in the world, have the caregiver
show their credentials. It’s a win, win,
win, win situation. The brand would sell
so many, they’d be banking for good, and the artists wouldn’t feel like they’re getting ripped
off…and, their flick or whatever’s getting exposure.
The Paras
aside, which Kodi allows for seeing channels not broadcast in a certain country,
why should home-bound crips be penalized for the hand they were dealt and not
be allowed the enjoy the things in life we trivialize?
Until next time, be good to each other.
