So Tuesday night, Joey asked me why the breast cancer ribbon's pink. I told it's because when people think breast cancer, they think of chicks, which guys can get breast cancer too. This made her wonder yesterday why we generalize colors for certain causes and genders.
Also, I read an article on TMZ about Betsy Devos, our Secretary of Education, wanting to literally kill the budget used for Special Olympics. This is especially personal for me, because I along with my brother, Joey, and best friend, Noe, both of whom are dead, participated in our local Special Olympics as kids. How dare she try to take away this from the next gen, that has been around for the last 50-odd years since the Kennedy administration!
