Labels.

Evening, Fam…

So, I saw this on my Twitter friend, Dave’s, feed:

skinny = anorexic

thick = obese

virgin = too good

non-virgin = slut

friendly = fake

quiet = rude

you can never please society.

I’ve touched on this a little, but the topic warrants revisiting, because, no matter who you are, someone can label you whether true or not.  Most people talk out the side of their mouth instead ask questions.

Disabled’s not on the list, but the easy generalization’s that we live in a “home” or that we’re retarded or deaf…at face value.

If you’ve been following us, you know we tolerate disabled and LOATHE handicapped.  If you’re a friend or fam, you’ll know we’re crips.  Still, it’s an uphill battle…even with some friends and fam.  Of course, fam’s known us since we were kids, so it might be the “once a kid, always a kid” mentality, which’s a double-edged sword when you’re 42 and 40.  Everybody wants to be babied at times but taken as the adults we’ve become other times.

But, like Dave says at the end of his post, you can never please society, so be you, and be happy being you.
