So, a couple
days ago, I read that Cranberries frontwoman, Dolores O'Riordan, drowned in her
bath in her London hotel room after drinking herself into a stupor. I also read a few days ago that Kyle Pavone, the
frontman of metal band, We Came as Romans, OD’d. Both had upcoming plans within the coming
weeks, or in the case of O’Riodan, the day she died. My question to you, why?
On the
flipside, Burt Reynolds died of a heart attack at 82. He was 2 days shy of shooting his part in
Tarantino’s new movie, Once Upon a Time
in Hollywood…a cruel twist of fate, indeed.
Two different
cases, the first set, preventable, the second, maybe, but age has to be
factored.
I’m trying
to wrap my mind around why, if you have everything going for you career-wise,
why you’d want to chance sabotaging things with a case of death in the case of
drug abuse, and, like I’ve said before, drug abuse starts with a conscious
choice, so I don’t buy the disease bit.
MD’s a disease, cancer’s a disease.
Obviously, money doesn’t buy common sense.
Outside of
choices, I understand people’re complicated, so I understand there’re other
factors, but at the core…just why?
Be good to
each other.
