So, Joey
raised a good question this morning when we were talking about Pat’s surgery. She was joking, but not. She asked me, if, because we, peeps with
Spina Bifida, can’t feel our legs, do they use anesthesia.
I can see
her point. If we can’t feel anyway, why
put us under the strain of anesthesia. I’ll
admit, the feel of going under’s weird with all my shunt surgeries, to say the
least. Just throw a cover over our head like
a bird, and we’re good, right? But, I
told her they, more often than not, put crips under, because, yeah, we can’t
feel it, but we’ll know, and just knowing, in and of itself, can make
psychological complications, which can make physiological complications, it
stands to reason. When people get
scared, their heart rate skyrockets, blood pumps more, there’s more of a chance
to bleed out. No ueno.
Anyhoo, I’m
still waiting to hear from Patty.
Be good to
each other.
