Home for the Holidays Market Midland
So, this weekend, we went to the first Home for the Holidays Market in Midland. Joey'd heard about it before her surgery, so this was the first outing since said surgery. We were on her time as far as how long we'd be out. She did really good. We left out at noon, and her leg didn't make her tap out 'til after 4. This includes the bus ride and walking to the Bush Center from the stop, then, walking around the building, which they did a great filling the venue out. Just when we thought we'd seen everything, there was more...and, the whole place was morgue cold for some reason, which couldn't be great on her sore muscles. Still, she had fun and a smile on her face, which made me happy.
She even made the walk from the Bush Center to the main bus transfer since we think we just missed the bus. We thought we'd get bus 1 since it drops off at our street...'til the driver couldn't make my tie-down work. Here's the rub, we rode bus 1 there, I sat in the exact spot and the tie-down worked just fine...just with a different driver. This other driver wasn't new, so I don't know what his issue was, I just knew he was wasting time fucking with one tie-down instead moving onto the other three, which would've been fine, but no, he had us waiting as well as the others waiting to get on when he fucked with a tie-down he obviously wasn't going to get...just to tell us he can only take one of us.
I saw bus 3 pull out, so I suggested he call him back, and he said no, and that I'd've to wait for the next go around, another hour wait...WTF! We were trying to beat the setting sun and the Fri. 5 o'clock traffic, which wasn't an issue since the stop was almost at our door. As it was, I watched the sun start dipping behind buildings. Fuck. I knew Joey was hurting, so I gave her the garage door opener, and got off not listening to the driver's fake apologies. I tried to text a friend to see if she could pick up our van to pick me up, but she didn't answer 'til AFTER I got home. So, I waited for bus 4, which we should've gotten on in the first place.
These two were waiting for the bus at various times
So, I waited the hour on bus 3 with Javius. I got on griping about 1 not realizing he was training...LOL! Poor girl got an earful. Oh well, she needs to know. Anyway, I got to the Illinois stop, and traffic wasn't bad there or crossing Midland considering it was just kissing 5. We got a good haul, and more importantly, Joey had a good time.
