Morning, Fam…
So, the
Paras’ve always been good for the economies of their hosting countries, employing
the community’s crips, who may or may not’ve already been in the workforce.
FB and
Twitter’ve been hosting a retrospective titled Transforming Lives based on some of the talented people that the
Games afforded them jobs to make London ’12 possible. I missed the first episode and the second
went up this AM.
I know, even
in the 21st Century, we in the US, are still marginalized, because
it’s the old “people see the chair first” bit, which sucks balls, because I
know a lot of crips, Joey and I included, who have a lot to offer society, but
we have to fight that uphill battle to prove our worth, to get some people to
see past the chair.
I can’t
imagine other countries’ crips, what hoops they have to go through to prove
they’re worth in a society where perfection’s the top echelon…and, the rest get
sloughed off.
Anyway,
check these first two episodes out, and be the ball.
Be good to
each other.
