Mom's Retirement.

Afternoon, Fam…

So, this morning, we (Joey, Ashley, and I) went to Mom’s retirement party put on by The Children’s Clinic that she’s been working at for the last fifteen years.  She’s officially retired after leaving the office five years ago, I believe.  She’s been in the medical field for fifty years, I believe, total.

Damn, fifty years’s a long time to dedicate a life to something, to care for people, to see them from the cradle to the grave.

Working at the office, I got to hear people’s gratitude for her care, and today, I got to hear from her co-workers and colleagues as well as from some patients she took care of through excerpts from a scrapbook The Children’s Clinic staff compiled for her as a testament to her dedication to her calling in life.

To cap off the morning, my sis, Kat, made it in from Throckmorton to be here for her retirement.  Kat and Jack’re expecting a girl in January.

It’s definitely interesting, the circle of life.

Be good to each other.
