In the Name of the Father.

Evening, Fam…

So, one my girls and I were talking earlier this week, and she was telling me about one of her daughters getting harassed by the older women of her church.  She was telling me they were criticizing her on the way she looked and that because she was part of the group they were in in the church, they had the right to do so.  Furthermore, she was under contracted she’d signed being in said group…EXCEPT, she’s a minor and her mom had no idea there was a contract signed.  She was just under the impression that it was just a church singing group.

OK, every religion dogs on another for whatever the reason.  Most of the time, it’s over a belief that differs from the offended religion.  It’s petty if you think about it.  Yeah, it’d be nice if we could all agree on one name for our God and a core set of beliefs, but that just ain’t how the world works.

When she confronted the women, they played the religion card being all pious saying they were looking out for her, and that they’d do it for anyone’s daughter.  She said she could see they really wanted to click on her, though.  Let’s be fake in the house of God, shall we?

Let’s shrink the scope even more.  So, here we’ve got a group of girls shitting on another girl from the SAME CHURCH!  WTH!  I understand we’ve been taught to look our best when we go to whatever you want to call it, but we’re also of the mind that, if you’re wearing the best you’ve got, even if it doesn’t measure up to rich bitch sitting beside you, oh well…you’re there to be with your God, not be on The Next Top Model.

Also, psychology teaches that most kids’ self-esteem’s shot by the time they’re 7-8…why?

Yesterday, I talked about educating, not agitating.  Today, I’m talking about elevating, not exacerbating.

Be good to each other.
